Thomas Henson - Sponsorships
Thomas Henson is a lawyer at HensonFuerst PA and is the managing partner of the firm’s Catastrophic Injury Litigation division, devoting a majority of his time to cases involving traumatic brain injury and spinal injury. Based on his own experience cycling roads in North Carolina and across the country, as well as the countless injured cyclists he has helped in his 30 year career as a lawyer, Thomas now also spends significant time advocating for cycling safety and education so that cyclists have the resources necessary to keep themselves safe on the road.
In 2002, Thomas formed the Henson Fuerst Cycling Team, which grew from only a few members into a team of more than 50 people at the height of its participation in community cycling events in North Carolina. The Cycling Team’s primary event was the North Carolina Tour de Cure, which benefitted the American Diabetes Association (ADA), but also included the Bike MS Ride to benefit multiple sclerosis, the 100-kilometer “Ride for the Rock,” which raised funds for the Brain Injury Association of North Carolina, the Raven Rock Ramble which benefits the UNC Kidney Foundation, and the CARA Ride for Their Lives which benefits the Carolina Animal Rescue and Adoption Organization.
From 2009 until 2014, Thomas served as chair or co-chair for the Tour de Cure, and still serves as captain of the Henson Fuerst Cycling Team. The team raised over $100,000 for the ADA in their years of participation. After the Tour moved its primary location to Charlotte, Thomas switched his focus to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, becoming a board member of Team CBC.
Thomas loves to spend time with his wife and son who are the center and the joys of his life.
